Hay Fever(Senior Capstone Project)

SCAD Project, PROD 473, April 2026

My capstone costume design for Hay Fever explores performance as both identity and manipulation within the Bliss family. Each character acts as an active performer, shifting personas to impact their guests. I focused on distinguishing these performative styles through silhouette, texture, and color, allowing each family member to embody a unique theatrical language.

Color theory plays a central role in the design, functioning as a system of hierarchy and psychological influence. The Bliss family is unified through a structured color relationship, while contrasting, analogous, and tetradic schemes reinforce tension, and emotional rhythm within the play.

Through this approach, the costumes support Hay Fever’s heightened reality, where social interaction becomes spectacle.

PillBox Hat (Hat Making)

SCAD Project, PROD 302, May 2025

Hat designed for Carrie Bradshaw Sex and the City. High end with a vintage streetwear look that looks intentional  mismatched together.

Worbla Mask (Synthetic Materials)

SCAD Project, PROD 302, May 2025

Mask designed for Richard III from Richard III. His style is sharp and commanding, reflecting both his strategic mind and need for control: dark, structured silhouettes, juxtaposing textures like lace, and armor-like details that assert dominance.

Stripped Vest (Repurposing Clothes)

SCAD Project, PROD 302, April 2025

Vest upcycled from an old thrifted shirt with an added ruffle. For the character Phoebe from Friends. Known for being very loyal, having a mismatched style, and always having a joke. She wears lots of textures and patterns together.

Jacket Construction (Personal Project)

Personal, May 2022

I designed and constructed a custom jacket that I decided to make after finding very interesting fabric at a thrift store. This project allowed me to experiment with different techniques, including tailoring and detailing, while honing my skills in garment construction.

Johanna, Sweeney Todd (ITF Festival Submission)

ITF National Festival, July 2021

For the ITF Festival National Competition, I had the opportunity to construct Johanna’s dress from Sweeney Todd, which earned a Superior rating. This project was a challenging and rewarding experience in bringing a period costume to life with attention to historical accuracy and character detail.

Leather Tote (Leather Making)

SCAD Project, PROD 302, May 2025. Purse designed for Margot from the Menu. Understated and practical, with a subtle edge. She likes Clean, minimal pieces in dark neutral but with an interesting design.

Smocked Silk Dress (Smocking)

SCAD Project, PROD 302, April 2025

Dress designed for Rachel Chu from Crazy Rich Asians. Her style is modern, polished, and quietly elegant, often leaning into soft silhouettes, rich jewel tones, and clean lines. She’s not flashy, but always stands out from the crowd.

1800's Vest (La Bohéme)

SCAD Project, PROD 222, May 2024

Building on my costume renderings for La Bohème, I brought one of my designs to life by sewing a piece. This process involved translating a sketch into a wearable garment, focusing on fabric selection, pattern drafting, and construction techniques.

Award Show Dress (Personal Project)

Personal, April 2022

For a special award show, I designed and created a one-of-a-kind dress, completely drafted without the use of a pattern. I focused on custom draping, fit, and details to bring my vision to life. I carefully chose fabrics that complemented the structure and flow of the gar
